Labouret Private Gallery, LLC

Edouard Labouret, born in Paris in 1966, discovered his enduring passion for art during a school field trip to the Grand Palais in 1974. The profound impact of witnessing Joan Miró's retrospective exhibition ignited an exploration that has influenced his life ever since. At eight, Edouard moved to New York, where he found solace and inspiration in the renowned art institutions like the Museum of Modern Art, the Frick, and the Met.

By age ten, art had become a sanctuary for Edouard, nurturing his imagination and belief in the silent communicative power of art. While attending boarding school and later law school in France, he remained deeply intertwined with the art world, interning at esteemed Parisian auction houses and leading galleries. These experiences cemented his dedication to the arts, steering him back to New York through ventures in Mexico and Los Angeles.

In 2020, Edouard realised his vision by transforming the first floor of his Murray Hill duplex into Labouret Private Gallery—a unique space where art and home blend seamlessly. This private gallery and art consulting company offers an intimate art collecting experience, focusing primarily on American Modern Art from the 20th century, spotlighting artists often overlooked.

By reviving and presenting these silent yet potent voices, Labouret Private Gallery invites viewers to engage in a rich dialogue on individuality and human potential, embracing the legacy of European and American modernism as a dynamic conversation between artist, viewer, and art collectors alike. By appointment only, Labouret Private Gallery is not just a showcase of art but a setting for personal expression and connection, where visitors can envision artworks within their own lives and spaces.
